NVIDIA 173.08 driver released

NVIDIA has released what they refer to as a beta release of their Linux driver.
The main points for MythTV users are:

Added support for the following new GPUs:

Quadro FX 3600M
GeForce 9800 GX2
GeForce 9800 GTX
GeForce 9600 GT
GeForce 9500M GS
GeForce 8400
GeForce 8400 GS

Fixed a problem that caused the synchronization signal polarity to always be positive for DVI devices [...]


LinuxMCE 0710 beta 3 released

Major changes:

Latest mythtv packages and fixes for lmce mythtv stuff
Integrated VDR to LMCE and added support for few DVB-S cards
Added support for 1080p resolution. It works great with masked UI2.
Added latest nVidia drivers (169.07)
Added support for amd64
Added support for mixed amd64/i386 md’s
Upgraded xine to latest version

New nVidia 169.07 Linux driver has better mode settings

nVidia has released a new stable version of their Linux driver - 169.07.
For MythTV users the most interesting part in the release note is this:

Improved support for interlaced DVI, HDMI, and HDTV modesetting.

NVIDIA Linux driver 169.04 Beta released

From the NVIDIA web-site you can now download a new version of their Linux driver.
There are many bug-fixes and improvements. Check out Phoronix for the details.

LinuxMCE 7.10 scheduled for release end of November

This version will be based on Kubuntu 7.10 and the new features are:

Support for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray playback, as well as integration with MPlayer
1080p on the nVidia graphics platform
Better integration with MythTV
The inclusion of VDR, popular with the European Satellite users
Lots of bug fixes and tweaks
