LinuxMCE 0704 has been released - demo video available

LinuxMCE 0704 RC1 was released two weeks ago and now it has been finalised.
Along with the release comes a 24 minute demo video - either from Google Video in low res or from linuxmce.org in HD.

LinuxMCE 0704 RC1 available

It used to be called version 1.1, but since each release will be tightly connected to a corresponding Kubunbu release, they have renamed it, so that this one will be 0704 and later there will be a 0710.
This is release candidate 1 and if no big issues show up, 0704 will be released July 30th..

Podcast covering PVR options

The Linux Action Show, is covering different PVR options in their latest podcast - episode 48. Not exactly a complete roundup, but still…
First up is LinuxMCE 1.1 beta. They compare that to Vista Media Center and make some comments on AppleTV.
In the end they seem to prefer a pure MythTV install.

LinuxMCE 1.1 Beta 2 available

The LinuxMCE distribution, which is now based on Kubuntu and contains MythTV as well as Pluto (home automation), has just announced a new beta release.
Compared to the first beta, three issues have been fixed:

a bug in the LMCE installer
a samba packaging issue
a bug in the KDE network manager

They expect a 1.1 release any day now.
