MythBuntu 8.10 Alpha 4 has been released

xf86-video-intel 2.4.0 released

I’m back from vacation so some of this is a little dated…
Last week Intel released version 2.4.0 of their linux video driver.
The nex X4500 chipset is supported and also there is now HDMI support for the ASUS P5E-VM board. And then of course bugfixes.

Linux 2.6.26 Kernel Released

Lots of changes, but probably the most interesting changes for MythTV builder are these:

Initial Radeon R500 support
Support for Intel G45 chipset
Support added for Hauppauge HVR-850, HVR-900, HVR-950 and HVR-1200

KnoppMyth 5.5 released

It has been a long time since KnoppMyth was last updated (Spetember 2007), but now the new version is ready. R5.5 is also called “Bone Marrow” and you can read why here. Nice going, Cecil!

Hauppauge HD PVR Linux driver released - alpha quality

The first release of the Linux driver for Hauppauge HD PVR is now available.
MythTV is still not ready to use the driver, but work is getting done.

Linux Kernel 2.6.25 released

I’m not currently waiting for anything to be put into the kernel, so for me there is not anything particularly interesting in there, but I guess it all depends on what hardware you have.
Check the very detailed changelog to see if you should upgrade.
