I wrote a little bit about the new features in Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex a few days ago.
Now both Ubuntu 8.10 and Mythbuntu 8.10 have been released.

Mythbuntu 8.10 is nearing completion and the first Release Candidate has been made. There are not a lot of MythTV related changes as it follows the release cycle for Ubuntu.
But just to sum it up, the big changes in Mythbuntu 8.10 compared with 8.04 are these:
GNOME 2.24

Let me clarify the headline a bit… You can easily create a Perl script which will let you delete a recording from the command line. Well isn’t that what rm is for…? … Yes, but this will also delete the entry in the database so that it is gone from the MythTV UI as well.

The Apple Mac Mini is a nice MythTV frontend for those willing to pay a little extra ($599) for the nice design. It has enough horsepower to do HD and although the remote is very limited, you can add another remote quite easily.

Mythbuntu 8.10 Alpha 6 was released nine days ago. Normally testing alpha software is risky business, at least for your data which you should always backup before the testing begins.
