Hauppauge HD PVR unboxing and first impressions
Brent Evans is at it once again. He has now received his HD PVR from Hauppauge and is documenting the whole process with images, text and video!
So far SageTV and GB-PVR have some sort of support for the HD PVR. MythTV support is supposedly very close.
The first impressions are basically that the firmware and drivers still need some polishing, but the video quality is very good and I think that is more important.
Brent Evans sums it up like this:
Keep in mind this is very early testing and I could very well have done something to cause the lock-up, but these things along with my IR blaster experience are reminders of how this device is probably best left with the early adopters at the moment until the bugs (firmware, 3rd party software and otherwise) get worked out.
