MythTV on AppleTV - update
Posted on May 30th, 2008 by
I have written a number of posts here in the past about AppleTV. Lately the procedure for getting a MythTV frontend running on AppleTV has become much more streamlined, so I just thought I would summarize…
There is a new page on the MythTV wiki describing how you can use Gentoo Linux on AppleTV. Gentoo Linux is a very flexible distribution, but not the most easy one. So you might prefer MythBuntu, and for that purpose there is a howto install MythBuntu on AppleTV.
The AppleTV is able to play back 720p MPEG-2 and 720p H.264.
And all for just $229.

With XvMC, I believe it can play 1080p/i too.
At least 1080i, according to this post:

I’m not sure about 1080p… Can anyone confirm this?
