Wake up MythTV over the internet

Waking up MythTV or any machine is possible using wake-on-lan, but this usually only works on your home network and not over a WAN, say from your workplace or from a friends house.

But the ability to wake up your MythTV remotely does make a lot of sense. Combined with MythWeb, you will then be able to schedule programs to be recorded in case you forgot to do this when you were at home.

Luckily the world is full of creative people and it seems Kristof Vanhertum of Belgium is one of those people. He solved the problem by setting up a light weight webserver supporting php on his router and then having the router send the magic packet for wake-on-lan.

Now when Kristof logs onto his home webserver, he will see this:
