The HT Guys talk about their MythTV setup on episode 183 of their podcast.
The MythTV setup they have built is based on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.5 GHz and two pcHDTV 5500 ATSC Tuners.

The first non-beta version of MythNetTV has been released.
MythNetTV is a command line tool you can use to download videos via RSS feeds, and have them appear as recordings in MythTV.
MythNetTV also handles transcoding via MPlayer/MEncoder, so you can save the videos in the format you prefer.

Maybe you didn’t even notice, but actually all the very nice MythTV themes from Justin Hornsby were removed from his website in the last couple of days.
Trying to access one of the themes, such as BlooTube or ProjectGrayhem, just resulted in a big graphic saying “Deleted”.

Michael Still, author of “Practical MythTV” is providing a nice analysis of the likely outcome of the pending Zap2It Labs shutdown. His basic message is: “Don’t panic!”

Michael Still, the coauthor of “Practical MythTV” has written a nice howto use the parental filter of MythTV.
So if you have kids and you want to prevent them from accidently watching a horror movie or even just the news, then follow his howto. It even has screenshots!

The very professionally looking Blootube-wide theme for MythTV has been updated. According to the artist behind it, it is now “shinier and brighter”. Blootube-wide is a 16:9 widescreen theme, but there is also a 4:3 version available, although it was not updated this time.
