This is actually about a week old, but I still want to point out that Benton Roberts has written a flexible perl script which you can use to convert video to iPod format, as well as other formats.
The script is used together with a “job description file” to do the actual work.

The title says it all - after a beta period, MythDora 4.0 was released two days ago.

tvease.net have announced that they will be delivering a new powerful prebuild MythTV machine on June 15th.
The machine is called “Zodiac” and it is capable of 1080p output. It has two tuners and comes in a really nice HTPC case.

A new page has been added to the MythTV wiki describing how to add FM radio playback to MythTV.
Although it will look like a plug-in, it is basically a hack which requires editing the theme files. But the end result looks great.
The howto requires a Hauppauge PVR-150 card.

There is currently a lot of activity going into creating a page on the MythTV wiki describing the UPnP functionality. There is also a growing list of UPnP devices, with user reports of how well they work with MythTV.

Stewart Smith and Michael Still have written a book about MythTV called “Practical MythTV”. It has been available as preorder for a while, but now it seems the book has shipped.
