Apparently this guy SiD3WiNDR, got a little upset about the MythTV protocol and the lack of documentation.
I already know what the reaction from the MythTV developers will be: If you think it is really so bad - go make it better yourself.
But at the same time, as I’m sure the documentation is insufficient, it does make it harder for new developers to make contributions.
I’m not going to criticise anyone, since I have not contributed much myself, and since I truly enjoy my MythTV. So thanks to anyone who has contributed to this great piece of software (bad protocol or not…)

Woah, do you have some google alert on MythTV?
Actually, I didn’t get “upset” about the protocol per se, but about the way I was treated on the IRC channel when asking questions about it - apparently you’re not allowed to say the docs are insufficient. Due to that I probably got a little too much bashing/ranting into the post
Yes, the protocol isn’t great, but it’s not worth to be upset about, with some sniffing and source code reading + the already present information on the wiki, even it was a bit outdated it helped me a lot. I’m || this close to getting Myth LiveTV output on my Windows box
